The Expert Mind comes through perfect practice

An interesting article about the expert mind in Scientific American (the cover article for August 2006) argues that pushing yourself to study how to do things you can’t currently do is what eventually makes you an expert. You can also listen to a podcast interview with the author, Phil Ross.

As my jazz instructor Ray Smith use to add to the well known saying:

It’s not practice makes perfect, it’s perfect practice makes perfect.
